Abe Reid & The SpikeDrivers hit the stage at 8:30PM, bringing a raw mix of Piedmont blues, roots music and rock ’n’ roll to Downtown Asheville.

A North Carolina native, Abe learned the tradition firsthand from legendary Carolina musicians Guitar Gabriel and Cootie Stark, spent time busking the streets of New Orleans, and helped form The Blue Rags before going on to win the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 1998. He’s spent decades keeping that old-school Carolina sound alive while putting plenty of grit and electricity into it. Explore Asheville
